About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Lead Process Engineer to join their globally distributed team, operating remotely. This critical role focuses on the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical and physical processes within the Oil & Gas sector . You will lead process engineering initiatives, mentor a remote team of engineers, and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of complex systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform process simulations and troubleshoot operational issues for production facilities.
  • Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs and conduct hazard analyses (HAZOP).
  • Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, providing technical guidance and performance feedback remotely.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other discipline engineers to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and projects in a remote setting.
  • Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and thermodynamic modeling .
  • Strong knowledge of process safety, HAZOP studies, and international engineering codes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for a virtual workplace.
