Remote Lead Reservoir Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Reservoir Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting their global operations, with potential project ties to areas such as Mahikeng, North West . This senior role is responsible for leading complex reservoir studies, developing strategic field development plans, and mentoring a team of reservoir engineers, all within a remote-first framework. You will play a crucial part in maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and ensuring the economic viability of projects, requiring exceptional technical leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a dispersed team and contribute to the company's success in the Oil & Gas industry from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical aspects of reservoir engineering for assigned projects, from appraisal through to abandonment.
• Develop and manage integrated reservoir simulation models to forecast production and optimize recovery strategies.
• Prepare detailed field development plans and reserves estimates, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of reservoir engineers operating remotely.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including geology, drilling, and production.
• Oversee economic evaluations and risk assessments for potential development opportunities.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector, with proven leadership experience.
• Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE) and numerical modeling techniques.
• Strong understanding of petroleum systems analysis and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead remote teams effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, suitable for a virtual environment.
