Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures for financial services operations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's business.
• Conduct regular compliance training for employees across various departments.
• Perform internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches.
• Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
• Advise senior management on compliance best practices and emerging risks.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external compliance consultants.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA).
• Contribute to the development of new products and services from a compliance perspective.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Relevant compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal or regulatory compliance, preferably within the financial services or fintech industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory texts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex compliance issues clearly.
• Proficiency in using compliance management software and relevant technological tools.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills to thrive in a remote work environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed team.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
