About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Remote Legal Counsel with a specialization in contract law to join their distributed legal team. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide variety of commercial contracts, managing contract lifecycles, and mitigating contractual risks. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.

• Advise business stakeholders on contractual risks, obligations, and best practices.

• Manage the full contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution and renewal.

• Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Develop and maintain standardized contract templates and clauses.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand contract needs and provide timely legal support.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 7+ years of post-qualification experience.

• Demonstrable expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and related legal principles.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

• Proficiency in contract management systems and legal research tools.
