Remote Legal Counsel - Technology & IP

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Legal Counsel with expertise in Technology and Intellectual Property to join their team in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and protect the company's Intellectual Property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology-related agreements, such as software licenses, SaaS agreements, and development contracts.
• Advise on issues related to data privacy , cybersecurity, and digital media law.
• Conduct IP due diligence for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
• Develop and implement IP and technology compliance strategies .
• Provide legal guidance on emerging technologies and their associated risks and opportunities.

Requirements

• Admitted attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Technology Law and Intellectual Property .
• Proven experience in IP prosecution, enforcement, and IP-related transactional work.
• Strong understanding of software licensing, data protection laws (e.g., POPIA, GDPR), and cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and contract drafting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical teams.
