Remote Machine Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented Machine Design Engineer to join their remote engineering team, based anywhere within South Africa, including the Nelspruit area. This position is focused on designing innovative and efficient machinery for various industrial applications. You will be responsible for the complete design cycle, from concept generation to detailed specifications and production support, working autonomously within a collaborative virtual environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document complex machinery and automated systems using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform stress analysis, kinematic simulations, and other engineering calculations to ensure design integrity.
• Specify and select appropriate mechanical components, including gearboxes, motors, actuators, and bearings.
• Collaborate remotely with control engineers, project managers, and clients to define requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning phases of machinery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA tools .
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, machine dynamics, and industrial automation.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
