Remote Mechanical Design Engineer - New Product Introduction

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join their New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This role is crucial for bringing new, cutting-edge products to market, focusing on the design, prototyping, and manufacturing readiness of mechanical components and systems. You will work virtually with a talented global team, contributing to the development lifecycle from concept through to mass production. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new product releases using advanced CAD tools.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional NPI teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, in a remote setting.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new product designs.
• Support the transition from prototype to production, ensuring designs are manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective.
• Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analysis.
• Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions, and prototype testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on New Product Introduction.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, PTC Creo) and familiarity with FEA tools.
• Experience working with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
