Remote Mechanical Design Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Specialist to join their distributed engineering team, working entirely remotely . This role focuses on detailed mechanical design, component development, and CAD modeling for a variety of innovative projects. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with virtual teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet stringent technical requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using advanced CAD software.
• Perform tolerance analysis and ensure designs meet all functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and external suppliers to refine designs and resolve technical queries.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
• Contribute to design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.
• Assist in the troubleshooting of design-related issues encountered during prototyping or production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or CAD Specialist .
• High proficiency in industry-standard 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks , Inventor, or CATIA.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, etc.) and GD&T.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote setting.
