About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their globally distributed engineering team. This role, based remotely and supporting operations potentially near Mossel Bay , focuses on the design, analysis, and optimization of complex mechanical systems. You will leverage your expertise to develop innovative solutions, troubleshoot technical challenges, and collaborate effectively with virtual teams across different time zones. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who thrives in an independent work environment and excels at remote collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test sophisticated mechanical systems and components for new and existing products.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis using FEA and CFD tools to optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional remote teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and software developers, via digital communication platforms.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies within a remote work setting.
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in the field.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical system design and analysis.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software and advanced simulation/analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage projects effectively in a remote environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills tailored for remote interaction.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
