Remote Metallurgist - Mineral Processing Specialist

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the mining industry , is seeking an accomplished Remote Metallurgist specializing in mineral processing to enhance their global operations. This fully remote position allows you to apply your expertise in optimizing comminution, flotation, and other processing techniques from your home office. You will analyze plant data, troubleshoot operational challenges, and recommend innovative solutions to improve recovery rates and product quality. This role is designed for an experienced metallurgist who thrives on problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and contributing to the efficiency and profitability of large-scale mining operations through remote collaboration and technical leadership in mineral processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze metallurgical accounting data and plant performance metrics to identify areas for improvement in mineral recovery and product quality.
• Develop and test new processing methodologies, reagents, and equipment configurations to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance to plant operators and engineers at various mining sites.
• Conduct laboratory test work and pilot plant studies to evaluate process variations and validate proposed solutions.
• Prepare comprehensive metallurgical reports, technical specifications, and operational guidelines for implementation.
• Collaborate with the research and development team to explore and implement innovative technologies in mineral processing.

Requirements

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in mineral processing, covering various ore types and commodities.
• Strong understanding of flotation, leaching, thickening , and other key metallurgical processes.
• Proficiency in metallurgical simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet) and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills .
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and provide expert guidance effectively in a remote work environment .
