Remote Metallurgist - Process Optimization

About the Role

Our client is searching for an experienced Metallurgist specialized in Process Optimization to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is focused on analyzing and improving metallurgical processes across various mining operations to maximize recovery rates and operational efficiency. You will leverage data analysis, modeling, and experimental design to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot process issues, and implement innovative solutions. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of mineral processing and comminution, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to drive significant enhancements to plant performance from a remote work setting, contributing to profitability and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze metallurgical process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve mineral recovery, concentrate grade, and throughput.
• Conduct pilot plant studies and laboratory test work to evaluate new process technologies.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and provide technical support to plant metallurgists.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations on process improvements.
• Stay current with advancements in metallurgical processing and related technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in metallurgical processing, with a focus on gold, platinum, or base metals.
• Proficiency in metallurgical accounting and process simulation software.
• Strong understanding of comminution, flotation, leaching, and refining circuits.
• Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements that yield tangible results.
• Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
