Remote Metallurgist - Processing

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Remote Metallurgist to join their innovative mining operations team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy from a remote location, focusing on optimizing recovery rates and improving plant efficiency. You will analyze process data, provide technical recommendations, and collaborate virtually with on-site engineers and plant managers to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement process improvements. This role is ideal for a seasoned metallurgist who excels in data-driven problem-solving and can effectively communicate complex technical concepts in a virtual environment. You will play a key role in enhancing the economic performance of our client's processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze metallurgical test data and plant operational data to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and optimize metallurgical process flowsheets for various mineral commodities.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for mineral processing plants.
• Evaluate new processing technologies and their applicability to current operations.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and presentations on metallurgical performance.
• Collaborate closely with on-site plant personnel and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy.
• Strong knowledge of comminution, flotation, leaching, and other mineral processing techniques.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
