Remote Mine Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Mine Geotechnical Engineer to provide expert analysis and support for their global mining operations. This fully remote position allows you to contribute your specialized knowledge in rock mechanics and ground stability from anywhere, influencing the safety and efficiency of underground and open-pit mines. You will analyze geotechnical data, assess risks associated with ground conditions, and recommend ground support strategies and excavation designs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical assessments of underground and open-pit mining environments.
• Analyze rock mass properties, stability, and failure mechanisms.
• Develop and recommend appropriate ground support systems and excavation designs.
• Interpret geotechnical investigation data, including boreholes, CPTs, and laboratory test results.
• Provide remote technical guidance on geotechnical issues to site operations and engineering teams.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of geotechnical monitoring programs.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine geotechnical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and numerical modeling techniques (e.g., FLAC, UDEC).
• Proficiency in analyzing geotechnical data and assessing ground stability risks.
• Experience with ground support design and implementation in various mining contexts.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
