About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Mine Safety Inspector to contribute to their commitment to workplace safety across their operations. This role is fully remote, allowing you to conduct your duties from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for evaluating and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations within various mining environments, providing expert guidance, and promoting a strong safety culture. Your insights and recommendations will be critical in minimizing risks and ensuring the well-being of all personnel in the demanding settings of the mining industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote assessments and audits of mining sites to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Develop and implement safety management systems and procedures tailored for remote oversight.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs to site personnel via online platforms.
• Review and approve safety plans and risk assessments submitted by operational teams.
• Stay current with changes in mining safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine safety inspection and management.
• In-depth knowledge of South African Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related regulations.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety protocols.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills, adapted for remote interaction.
• Proficiency with digital tools for reporting and virtual communication.
