About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Remote Mining Operations Analyst to join their team, contributing to the efficiency and strategic planning of their diverse mining assets. This hybrid role allows for significant remote work, focusing on the analysis of operational data, performance metrics, and financial outcomes to support decision-making. You will be instrumental in identifying trends, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing overall operational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze operational data from various mining sites, including production volumes, costs, equipment utilization, and safety records.
- Develop dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to management and operational teams.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in mining processes, resource management, and cost control.
- Assist in the development of operational budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
- Conduct economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new projects or process improvements.
- Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and finance departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data analysis, operations analysis, or financial analysis within the mining industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, and potentially Python or R.
- Experience with business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, terminology, and key performance drivers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills , with the ability to present complex data clearly.
