Remote Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Network Engineer to join their global IT team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our client's complex network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires a deep understanding of networking principles, protocols, and cutting-edge technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network growth and ensure robust connectivity for all users, playing a pivotal role in maintaining our digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network solutions, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities, implementing proactive solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
• Stay current with emerging network technologies and propose enhancements to improve network efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise network design and management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of network security best practices and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
