Remote Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their globally distributed IT team. This position is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructure that supports all business operations. You will be responsible for ensuring network security, optimal performance, and high availability across the organization, working exclusively from a remote location. This role demands deep technical expertise in networking technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing timely support to internal teams.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools and security best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosing issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a fully remote setting.
