Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their distributed IT team, supporting operations across various regions, including our primary hub near Port Elizabeth. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing robust network infrastructure that supports all business operations. You will be responsible for ensuring network security, high availability, and optimal performance across our cloud and on-premise environments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, latency, and bandwidth problems.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including intrusion detection/prevention systems and access controls.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of network services.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations to enhance performance and capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and other network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network hardware and network management tools.
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
