Remote Network Infrastructure Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Network Infrastructure Technician to join their distributed engineering team. This role focuses on the remote management, maintenance, and optimization of our client's global network infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. You will be instrumental in supporting complex network environments from a distance, collaborating with on-site teams and providing Tier 2/3 support. Key Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Manage, configure, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs across distributed data centers and cloud environments.

• Perform regular system audits, security checks, and apply necessary patches and updates to network hardware and software.

• Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests, providing timely and effective troubleshooting.

• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for internal knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network administration and support, with a strong emphasis on remote management.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise-level networking hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto Networks.

• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtual private networks (VPNs).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote team environment.

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
