About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Remote Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their distributed team, working from anywhere within South Africa. This role is essential for the continuous monitoring and management of their global telecommunications network, ensuring optimal performance and rapid response to any incidents. You will be the first line of defense, identifying, analyzing, and resolving network issues to minimize downtime and maintain service integrity for all users. Key Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor network infrastructure and services using advanced Network Management Systems (NMS).
• Detect, analyze, and respond to network alerts and incidents, performing initial troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams, providing detailed incident information.
• Document all network events, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Perform regular health checks and preventative maintenance tasks on network devices.
• Collaborate with remote teams globally to ensure seamless network operations and service continuity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a NOC environment or performing similar network monitoring tasks.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and common network services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in working independently in a remote setting.
