Remote Network Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious Remote Network Security Specialist to join their cybersecurity team, operating entirely remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in protecting the company's telecommunications network infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and manage security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of network data and services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security protocols and infrastructure across the telecom network .
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches and suspicious activities, initiating incident response protocols.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for network access and data protection.
• Manage firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDPS), VPNs, and other security tools.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques relevant to the telecom industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network security, with a focus on telecommunications environments.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote capacity, supporting operations anywhere from East London .
