Remote Network Support Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Network Support Engineer to join their distributed technical team. In this role, you will provide critical remote support for network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for our diverse client base. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, implementing configuration changes, and contributing to the overall stability of our network environments from your home office. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who excels in a remote setting, possesses strong analytical skills, and is dedicated to delivering exceptional technical support to clients across various time zones, working remotely from Welkom or any approved location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues, implementing solutions to prevent outages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity and performance problems reported by clients or internal teams.
• Perform remote configuration changes, updates, and maintenance on network devices.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps in the knowledge base.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.

Requirements

• Proven experience in network administration and support, with a focus on remote troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (VLANs, STP), and firewall management.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain productivity in a remote work environment.
