About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Occupational Health and Safety Officer to support their mining operations. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across various sites without needing to be physically present. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust OHS policies, conducting risk assessments, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. This role is perfect for a safety professional who excels at virtual collaboration and driving a strong safety culture from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and policies.
• Conduct remote risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
• Provide guidance and training on OHS best practices to site personnel and management.
• Monitor compliance with OHS legislation and company standards, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Maintain OHS records, statistics, and prepare regular reports for management.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., SACPCMP, Saiosh).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in OHS, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proficiency in OHS legislation, risk management principles, and incident investigation techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and virtual collaboration skills.
