About the Role Our client is seeking a qualified and compassionate Occupational Health Specialist to join their remote workforce, supporting their diverse mining operations.

This role is crucial for promoting the health and well-being of employees across various sites, with a focus on preventative health measures, managing work-related illnesses and injuries, and ensuring compliance with occupational health legislation.

You will conduct health risk assessments, develop wellness programs, and provide expert advice to management and employees, all from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities • Conduct remote health risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate workplace health hazards. • Provide occupational health advice and support to employees and management across various mining sites. • Develop, implement, and promote employee wellness programs and health education initiatives. • Manage and coordinate occupational health surveillance programs, including medical examinations and screenings. • Advise on policies and procedures related to occupational health, safety, and employee well-being. • Maintain confidential employee health records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Requirements • Registered Nurse or Medical Practitioner with specialized qualifications in Occupational Health. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational health practice, preferably within the mining or industrial sector. • Sound knowledge of South African occupational health legislation and best practices. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills. • Proficiency in using digital health platforms and remote communication tools. • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and maintain high ethical standards.
