Remote Operational Efficiency Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Remote Operational Efficiency Engineer to drive improvements across their diverse operations, potentially including sites in Stellenbosch . This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in optimizing business and production processes from anywhere. You will be responsible for analyzing current systems, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing strategic solutions to boost productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to have a broad impact without geographical constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies using data and direct observation (virtual).
• Develop and propose innovative solutions and process improvements using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Create detailed implementation plans and project timelines for proposed operational enhancements.
• Collaborate with various department heads and teams virtually to gather requirements and ensure buy-in for new processes.
• Develop and maintain performance dashboards to track key operational metrics and measure the success of implemented changes.
• Provide training and support to teams on new procedures and efficiency best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Business Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in operational efficiency, process improvement, or a similar industrial engineering role.
• Proven experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects with measurable results.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Exceptional remote communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
