Remote Operations Excellence Lead

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking organization, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Operations Excellence Lead to drive continuous improvement initiatives across their fully remote workforce. This role will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, standardizing processes, and implementing best practices for teams operating without a central physical office, including support for areas around Bloemfontein, Free State. The ideal candidate will be a master of process improvement methodologies, possess exceptional analytical and communication skills, and thrive in a fully remote work environment. This is a critical position for shaping the future of our operational effectiveness from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage operational excellence programs and initiatives across the entire organization.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains within a remote context.
• Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for remote teams.
• Utilize data analytics to measure operational performance and identify areas for enhancement.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and successful implementation of operational changes.
• Act as a change agent, driving adoption of new processes and tools among remote staff.
• Monitor industry best practices and emerging trends in operations excellence and remote work.
• Support the development and execution of strategic operational plans.
• Report on key operational metrics and progress to senior leadership, impacting regions like Free State.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or process improvement, with a significant portion focused on remote or distributed teams.
• Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, especially in a virtual setting.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve measurable results.
• Proficiency in project management tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira, Asana, Slack, Teams).
• Experience in developing and documenting operational processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a fully remote role.
• Understanding of South African business operations is a plus.
