Remote Operations Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Operations Geologist to join their globally distributed team, supporting operations near Port Elizabeth . This role focuses on providing geological support for exploration, development, and production activities, predominantly from a remote work environment. You will analyze geological data, contribute to well planning, and assist in geological risk assessment for ongoing projects in the Oil & Gas industry . Key Responsibilities

• Interpret geological and geophysical data to understand subsurface formations.
• Provide geological input for well planning, drilling operations, and reservoir characterization.
• Perform real-time geological analysis during drilling operations remotely.
• Assist in the evaluation of exploration prospects and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to build integrated subsurface models.
• Prepare geological reports, presentations, and data packages for project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational geology, with a focus on exploration or development in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological datasets.
• Proven ability to work effectively and communicate efficiently in a remote team setting.
