Remote Petroleum Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Petroleum Geologist to join their global exploration team. This position leverages advanced geological expertise to evaluate potential hydrocarbon basins and prospects from a remote setting. You will analyze vast geological datasets, including seismic, well logs, and core samples, to provide critical input for exploration strategies and investment decisions. This role offers the flexibility of working from anywhere, contributing to significant discoveries within the international Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed geological analysis and mapping using integrated subsurface datasets.
• Evaluate prospectivity of new areas and existing fields through basin analysis and play fairway mapping.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to develop integrated subsurface models.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration opportunities.
• Stay abreast of the latest geological concepts and exploration technologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Petroleum Geology, or a related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in petroleum exploration geology .
• Strong proficiency in geological software for data integration and interpretation (e.g., Petrel, ArcGIS).
• Proven ability to assess geological risk and uncertainty in exploration contexts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a fully remote position.
