Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute crop breeding programs utilizing advanced genetic principles and marker-assisted selection.
• Conduct field trials to evaluate new germplasm and commercial varieties under diverse environmental conditions.
• Analyze genomic and phenotypic data to identify desirable traits and select superior breeding lines.
• Develop and implement protocols for molecular marker development and genotyping.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, agronomists, and data scientists, to achieve breeding objectives.
• Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, and trends in plant breeding and genetics.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Agronomy, or a related field with a strong focus on crop improvement.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in plant breeding research, including practical experience with various breeding methodologies.
• Proven expertise in quantitative genetics, statistical analysis, and bioinformatics tools relevant to plant breeding.
• Experience with molecular techniques such as marker-assisted selection (MAS), genomic selection (GS), and gene editing.
• Strong understanding of crop physiology and agricultural production systems.
• Excellent scientific communication skills, with a track record of publications and presentations.
