About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Power Systems Engineer to join their fully remote engineering department. This role is central to the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for a diverse range of applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of power infrastructure, working collaboratively with global teams on complex projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated engineer who excels in a remote setting and possesses a strong understanding of power distribution, grid integration, and related technologies, contributing to significant advancements in energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and protection schemes.
  • Perform detailed power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, stability, and arc flash analysis.
  • Select and specify power system equipment, components, and protective devices.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international power system standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual environment to achieve project goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex power system issues, providing technical expertise and recommendations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in power systems engineering.
  • Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PowerWorld).
  • Strong knowledge of power generation technologies, grid codes, and protection relaying.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
