About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Remote Principal Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud infrastructure. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in defining our cloud strategy, driving best practices, and ensuring the optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency of our cloud environments. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to build resilient, scalable, and automated cloud solutions. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere and contribute to a culture of innovation and technical excellence in the cloud space.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS , Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and management processes using CI/CD pipelines and scripting.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineering teams, fostering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and implement effective solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering and cloud infrastructure, with 5+ years focused on cloud technologies.
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and network security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset for designing complex systems.
