Remote Principal Electrical Design Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for new product development, from initial concept through to mass production.
• Define architectural specifications and design requirements for complex electronic systems.
• Oversee the design of PCBs, including schematic capture, layout, and signal integrity analysis.
• Manage the selection of components, ensuring performance, cost, and supply chain considerations are met.
• Direct and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Develop and implement design verification and validation strategies, including testing and debugging.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to electronics design.
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the engineering team.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in electrical design.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical hardware design and development.
• Proven experience leading electrical engineering teams and projects.
• Expertise in high-speed digital design, analog circuit design, and power management.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC/EMI principles.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGAs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams and projects effectively.
