Remote Process Design Engineer - New Ventures

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Process Design Engineer to spearhead the conceptualization and design of innovative new chemical ventures. Working entirely remotely, you will be instrumental in evaluating new technologies, developing feasibility studies, and creating preliminary process designs for diverse chemical projects. This role demands strong conceptual thinking, excellent technical communication, and the ability to thrive in an independent, digitally connected environment. You will collaborate with a global team of experts to bring groundbreaking chemical processes from idea to actionable design, contributing to the company's future growth and market leadership, all from the convenience of your chosen location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual process designs, flow diagrams, and P&IDs for new chemical manufacturing processes.
• Perform mass and energy balances, and preliminary equipment sizing for proposed plants.
• Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies for new venture opportunities.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and process routes.
• Collaborate effectively with remote teams, including R&D, project management, and external consultants.
• Prepare technical proposals and present design concepts to stakeholders.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering .
• Significant experience in process design, conceptualization, and feasibility studies.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, etc.).
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separations, and process economics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
