Remote Process Engineer - Metallurgy

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Remote Process Engineer specializing in metallurgy to join their global technical services team. Operating entirely remotely, you will focus on optimizing metallurgical processes for various mining operations, aiming to improve recovery rates, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. This role requires a deep understanding of mineral processing, comminution, flotation, and hydrometallurgy, applied through remote collaboration and data analysis. You will work closely with on-site metallurgists and plant operators, providing expert technical support, troubleshooting processing challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives from your home office, offering flexibility and significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze metallurgical plant performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies for comminution, flotation, leaching, and other metallurgical circuits.
• Troubleshoot processing issues and provide remote technical support to plant operations teams.
• Conduct metallurgical test work planning and interpretation.
• Contribute to the design and commissioning of new metallurgical plants or upgrades.
• Stay current with new technologies and best practices in mineral processing and metallurgy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in metallurgical process engineering within the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing techniques, including flotation, leaching, and smelting.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry) is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and provide practical, data-driven solutions.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, essential for working effectively with diverse teams.
