About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Remote Procurement Lead to spearhead their global procurement operations. Based anywhere in South Africa , you will be responsible for defining and executing the company's procurement strategy, building and leading a high-performing remote team, and driving significant value through strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global, forward-thinking procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed team of procurement professionals.
• Oversee all aspects of strategic sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation across diverse spend areas.
• Establish robust supplier relationship management programs to foster collaboration, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function through process optimization and technology adoption.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in procurement activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing global procurement strategies and managing large teams.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, complex contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Proven ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively.
• Strong financial acumen and proficiency with advanced procurement analytics and technology.
