Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Remote Production Planning Specialist to manage production schedules and resource allocation from Port Elizabeth . This critical role ensures that production targets are met efficiently by forecasting demand, planning material requirements, and coordinating with various departments. You will be instrumental in optimizing production workflows, minimizing lead times, and ensuring the timely delivery of finished goods. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong grasp of supply chain dynamics and production planning software, offering the flexibility of a remote role within a forward-thinking manufacturing organization that values strategic planning and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the planning process.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of production plans.
  • Manage raw material and component requirements, coordinating with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability.
  • Monitor production progress against schedules and proactively address any deviations or delays.
  • Utilise production planning software and ERP systems to manage and track production activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in production planning , scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and forecast demand accurately.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
  • A relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
