Remote Project Engineer - Civil Construction

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Remote Project Engineer to join their dynamic construction team, focusing on projects in and around Richards Bay . This is a fully remote position where you will provide critical engineering support, planning, and oversight for civil construction projects, without needing to be physically present on-site daily. You will collaborate closely with on-site project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and timelines. This role is perfect for an engineer who excels in remote collaboration and enjoys leveraging technology to manage complex construction challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote engineering expertise for the planning, design, and execution of civil construction projects.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor project progress remotely through regular reporting, site updates, and virtual meetings.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and challenges that arise during the construction phase.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Manage project documentation, including progress reports, permits, and change orders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction project engineering, with a strong understanding of project lifecycle management .
• Proficiency in using project management software and CAD /BIM tools for design review.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
• Ability to analyze technical data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
