Remote Project Manager - Social Impact Initiatives

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Project Manager to lead critical social impact initiatives. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, while focusing on projects that benefit communities in areas such as Richards Bay. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a deep commitment to driving positive social change remotely. This role demands a proactive approach to managing distributed teams and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution and closure.

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and required resources.

• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage them effectively.

• Coordinate and lead virtual project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.

• Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies as needed.

• Communicate project status, updates, and challenges to stakeholders regularly.

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and organizational objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a focus on social impact or non-profit projects.

• Proven experience managing projects remotely using digital collaboration tools.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adapted for remote interaction.

• Experience working with communities or projects relevant to KwaZulu-Natal is an advantage.
