Remote Quality Assurance Lead - Manufacturing

Our client is a pioneering manufacturing firm seeking an accomplished Remote Quality Assurance Lead to spearhead their quality control initiatives. This role is entirely remote, demanding a leader adept at ensuring product integrity and regulatory compliance from a distance. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust quality assurance frameworks and processes across our manufacturing operations. This position requires a deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and a passion for driving continuous improvement in product quality. The successful candidate will excel at collaborating with diverse, geographically dispersed teams, leveraging digital tools to maintain oversight and implement quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced quality assurance strategies and protocols for manufacturing processes.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of quality assurance specialists and inspectors.
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics (KQMs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Conduct comprehensive internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential quality issues.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure product quality from design to launch.
• Manage supplier quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting quality assurance.
• Facilitate remote quality review meetings and report on quality performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience as a QA Lead or in a similar leadership capacity, managing QA teams.
• Demonstrated success in implementing and managing QMS, preferably with ISO certifications.
• Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and other QA methodologies.
• Experience in managing remote teams and utilizing collaboration tools effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Exceptional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
• A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating quality risks in a remote operational context.
