Remote Quantity Surveyor - Cost Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Remote Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team, focusing on comprehensive cost estimation and management for construction projects. This role operates entirely remotely, requiring strong self-discipline and excellent virtual communication skills. You will be instrumental in preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents, ensuring financial viability and optimal resource allocation for projects across various locations. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects from tender stage through to completion.

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.

• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations on cost-saving measures.

• Manage and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding pricing and contracts.

• Monitor project expenditures and track costs against the budget, reporting any variances promptly.

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain meticulous financial records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.

• Professional accreditation or membership in a recognized QS body (e.g., SACQSP) is highly desirable.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with significant experience in cost estimation and contract administration.

• Proficiency in relevant QS software (e.g., WinQS, CCS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills for remote financial oversight.
