About the Role

Our client, an innovative technology firm, is seeking a creative and driven R&D Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote research and development team. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about exploring new technologies and developing novel mechanical solutions for next-generation products. You will be involved in the early stages of product innovation, conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, and testing new mechanical systems and components. The position demands a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual team environment. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects from anywhere, making a significant impact on future technologies without the constraints of a physical office.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative mechanical systems and components for R&D projects. Utilize CAD software for detailed 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Conduct simulations and analyses (e.g., FEA, CFD) to evaluate design performance and feasibility. Build and test prototypes, iterating on designs based on experimental results. Research emerging technologies and materials relevant to mechanical engineering innovation. Collaborate closely with a remote team of engineers, designers, and researchers through virtual communication tools. Document R&D activities, findings, and design specifications thoroughly. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate project progress and results. Identify potential intellectual property opportunities within R&D projects.

Requirements

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and R&D, with a strong portfolio of innovative projects. Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and simulation tools. Demonstrated experience in prototyping and experimental validation. Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with proven success working effectively in remote teams. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively in an independent work setting. Familiarity with mechatronics and system integration is a plus.

Benefits

This fully remote position offers unparalleled flexibility and work-life integration. Our client provides a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, and a home office setup allowance. Opportunities for continuous learning, professional development through online courses and conferences, and career advancement within a forward-thinking R&D department are extensive. You will be part of an innovative and dynamic global team, working on the cutting edge of technology, all from the convenience of your chosen location, though based conceptually in East London.
