Remote Recruitment Specialist - Mining & Resources

About the Role

Our client, a specialist recruitment consultancy, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Recruitment Specialist to focus on the Mining and Resources sector. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location within South Africa. You will be instrumental in sourcing and attracting skilled professionals for a range of roles within the mining industry, from geologists and engineers to operations managers and safety officers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the unique demands and challenges of the mining sector and a proven ability to identify and engage with talent in this specialized field. You will work autonomously, managing your workload and client relationships effectively, while being an integral part of our remote-first team.

This role demands initiative, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality recruitment outcomes for our clients across various regions, with a focus on supporting operations that may be located near Bloemfontein, Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for roles within the Mining and Resources sector, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
• Develop and implement targeted sourcing strategies to attract candidates with specialized skills relevant to mining operations.
• Conduct effective candidate assessments, including technical evaluations and behavioral interviews.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the Mining and Resources sector, understanding their specific needs and operational context.
• Utilize various recruitment tools and platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and industry-specific forums, to identify passive and active candidates.
• Provide regular updates to clients on recruitment progress and pipeline status.
• Stay informed about industry trends, safety regulations, and skill requirements within the Mining and Resources sector.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recruitment experience, with a proven track record in the Mining or Resources sector.
• Demonstrated ability to source and recruit for roles such as Mining Engineers, Geologists, Metallurgists, Surveyors, and Operations Managers.
• Excellent understanding of the talent landscape and key players in the South African mining industry.
• Strong remote work ethic, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment technologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with candidates and clients remotely.
• A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
