About the Role

Our client is seeking a sharp and dedicated Remote Renewable Energy Policy Analyst to join their team, operating from a remote-first setup. This position is integral to researching, analyzing, and advising on policies that support the growth and deployment of renewable energy technologies across South Africa, with a focus on initiatives relevant to Polokwane and the surrounding regions. You will play a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape, identifying policy gaps, and advocating for frameworks that accelerate the transition to sustainable energy sources. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on national and international renewable energy policies, regulations, and market trends.
• Analyze the economic, social, and environmental impacts of proposed energy policies.
• Develop policy recommendations and white papers to support the advancement of renewable energy projects.
• Engage with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and non-governmental organizations to provide expert input.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field with a focus on energy.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in policy analysis, preferably within the energy or environmental sector.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and markets.
• Excellent analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in policy research methodologies and the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, suitable for a fully remote role.
