Remote Research Scientist - Computational Biology

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational pipelines for the analysis of large-scale biological datasets, including next-generation sequencing data.
• Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and generate hypotheses from biological data.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and other computational scientists to interpret results and guide research directions.
• Visualize and communicate complex data findings effectively through reports, dashboards, and presentations to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the development of novel computational methodologies and tools to address specific research questions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant software tools, working effectively in a distributed team.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology , Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in computational biology or a closely related field, with a strong track record of analyzing complex biological data.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant scientific libraries and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
