Remote Route Planner & Dispatcher

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Route Planner & dispatcher to join their expanding national logistics team. This role is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa . You will be responsible for optimizing delivery routes, managing dispatch schedules, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the country. Your expertise in logistical planning will be key to enhancing our client's operational effectiveness and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong analytical mindset and a proven track record in transportation logistics, able to manage complex scheduling and problem-solving independently in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized delivery routes for a national fleet using specialized routing software.

• Manage daily dispatch operations, assigning tasks to drivers and monitoring progress remotely.

• Analyze logistical data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.

• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service representatives via digital channels.

• Proactively identify and resolve potential logistical disruptions and delivery delays.

• Maintain accurate digital records of routes, schedules, and dispatch activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in route planning, dispatching, or logistics coordination .

• Proficiency with logistics software and GPS tracking systems .

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, essential for a remote role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration.
