About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Remote Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of advanced security solutions for their global operations, supporting their presence in Soweto and beyond. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for defining the security architecture, establishing best practices, and ensuring that security is integrated into every aspect of the organization’s technology landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of secure enterprise-wide security architectures.
• Develop and maintain security standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
• Conduct threat modeling and security risk assessments for complex systems and applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and business teams to ensure security requirements are met.
• Lead the definition of security requirements for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing security controls for cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of network security, identity and access management, data protection, and cryptography.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders remotely.
