Remote Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly competent Senior Accountant to join their finance team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is integral to managing the financial operations and reporting for the company, supporting business objectives from anywhere. You will be responsible for complex accounting tasks, financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, all while working from the comfort of your own home office. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
• Prepare detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS.
• Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet items.
• Manage and support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions remotely.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant fiscal regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members and external stakeholders through virtual communication channels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, including experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with cloud-based accounting solutions is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration.
