Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Golang

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on Golang for a fully remote position. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying high-performance, scalable backend systems and APIs that power our client's core products. This role requires a deep understanding of backend architecture, database technologies, and distributed systems, coupled with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. You will work collaboratively with a global team to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovation in our backend services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs using Golang .
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and participating actively in code reviews.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems to ensure high availability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for backend systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and its standard library.
• Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker).
