Remote Senior Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced and self-motivated Senior Chemical Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations potentially based in or around Klerksdorp. This role is vital for providing expert technical guidance on complex chemical processes, process optimization, and project execution without the need for on-site presence. You will leverage your extensive experience to contribute to strategic initiatives, problem-solving, and continuous improvement from your remote workspace. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical consultation and support for chemical process design, troubleshooting, and optimization remotely.
• Lead and manage complex engineering projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion from a distance.
• Develop and review process designs, P&IDs, and operational procedures for various chemical manufacturing units.
• Conduct remote process hazard analyses and safety reviews, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff through virtual channels.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices, recommending their adoption to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering ; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of comprehensive experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong track record of project leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in process simulation, modeling, and data analysis software.
• Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively in a virtual team environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote interaction.
• Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and regulatory compliance.
