Remote Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure projects, to join their established team on a fully remote basis. This role is integral to the conceptualization, design, and delivery of critical infrastructure developments, including roads, water supply, and sanitation systems, primarily serving the KwaZulu-Natal region and beyond. You will leverage your extensive experience to lead project phases, mentor colleagues, and ensure the highest standards of technical execution and project management, all while working from your preferred location. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design and planning of large-scale civil infrastructure projects, such as transportation networks , water distribution, and wastewater management systems.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact analyses.
• Develop technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates for tender processes.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards from start to finish.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff remotely, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
• Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with strategic objectives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering .
• Professional registration (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA is a mandatory requirement.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in the design and management of significant civil infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in transportation engineering, hydraulics, and urban planning .
• Proficiency with relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley, or similar.
• Proven ability to lead remote teams and manage complex projects effectively without direct physical supervision.
